I read this to see if it would be appropriate for my 12 year old daughter. NOPE.
In the first chapter the words God (as a swear word) and crap are used multiple times. Lots of "pretend" swear words like heck and son of a gun too. Why are those necessary in a book that is aimed at 8-12 year olds???
The hippie parents are terrible to their child and the words used between characters in this book are disrespectful. There are many disrespectful words and actions all throughout the book as well as rude words.
The plot was ok but the actual writing was terrible. It was so confusing and just ridiculously absurd. Maybe that's what the author was going for but if that is the case, this should have been an adult book. I felt that it was a hallucination of weird ideas that was lazily written as a book. I felt like I was reading someone’s hallucination.
I do not recommend you waste your time reading this book.
