Bearable fantasy. Some good ideas, themes and plotting. But always painted with a blunt brush making thin or over-egged characters. The lead is overly woke and self-pitying, the overarching plot another US-Christ fantasy, so you never invest much in it. It’s very easy to skim paragraphs at a time. That said it was alright, not meant for an adult audience, and probably a decent gateway into better fantasy.
