Hello, love.
I promised I’d come for you.

This was one of my top reads for 2023! The characters immediately captivated me. Her descriptions of the world and how the it interacts with the characters are stunning. I felt like I could see the world fully in my head as I read.

She closed her eyes when the sea breeze kissed her cheeks.
Gods, she looked made for the Ever.

I love the romance in this book. I think its well written and the communication between the two MCs really allows you to feel their connection as is grows. I do wish it had been a little slower paced. It felt a bit quick for them to go from captor and captive to lovers in just over 100 pages.

Hate me all you want, but don’t regret me.
Promise me that.

Erik is a solid morally grey character whos ruthlessness and mercilessness  and to see him struggle with that made him feel more three dimensional and well rounded character. I think his motives were never very strong feeling because they weren't motives he ever truely believed. More like he they are things he should feel and do.

Livia felt a little stuck in her character growth for the first half of the book but over all I enjoyed seeing her deal with her anxiety and panic attacks and felt it was represented really well, at least from my experience.
