Star Wars flavored jungle war far was not what I expected when I picked this up. This does a really good job of show casing the atrocities of war, just not the Clone Wars. This shows the skirmishes of an everyday people divided on their planet that is the sole exporter of a luxury good, the gritty conflicts fought in the shadow of the larger war and how peoples' expectations of others lead to hate and death.

Anyway Mace is a cool character who finds himself questioning everything about being a Jedi to be able to survive and help these people. Which lets face it, every good Star Wars plot involves questioning Jedi philosophy. The side characters start out bland but get good development. This is very much legends though as certain things couldn't have happened in new canon.
