I knew this was gonna break me when I read the dedication. Boy. This one hit hard. Sweet Sage and Rook. Oh Sage. My sweet, sweet Sage. I want to start by saying that me and her are a lot like. This hit home hard. Her always having to wear a mask and be someone she’s not just so she can seem like a nice normal girl in front of the world, but then you meet that one guy where you can let it fall because you feel safe enough to be yourself. My heart was breaking for her but man, the badass she turned into. Sage. I will always love you. Then we have Rook. The sweet baby. I fell for him in the first book and was so excited to find out this one was his story. This man. Boy. The unlovable man. The Devil. That’s how the world sees him. Then you do a deep dive. This man is so much more. When he loves, he loves with his whole heart and your lucky if you get to see that. The things he does for Sage. My heart couldn’t stop smiling. I did want to punch him a time or two for being hardheaded. But hey. What can you do. This two will forever have my heart and so far this has my favorite of the series. Can’t wait to see what happens next 😈.
