Daughter of Dragons by Jack Campbell
5.0
There's a really excellent scene, a bit more than halfway through the book, where the main characters are caught in a terrific storm. The tension of that scene makes my heart pound something fierce every time I read it.
I also really appreciate how the main character acts like a 16yo girl, but also doesn't come across as unbearably annoying.
If you like books about kids trying to figure out who they are and work through half-buried resentment of their parents, this is a very good one for you.
