Worst Neighbor Ever
by Rachel John
adventurous
funny
hopeful
lighthearted
fast-paced
Narrator: Cecily White
My Reading Speed: 1.25x
Have I Read The Book Before Listening to the Audio? Yes
Overall Audio Impression:
I really liked Cecily’s audio narration of this book! I could tell who each character was without verbal tags which is awesome! I also loved getting to reread this story by listening to it! There were so many fun scenes in this story and I loved Melissa & Connor’s hate to love relationship! (Plus, Granny was a hoot and added some extra fun to the story!)
Favorite Scenes:
spying with Granny
Melissa confronting Connor (multiple)
yard work day
Book Review:
Reader’s Notes:
– this is a prequel to the Sworn to Loathe You series, but you don’t need to read it to enjoy this story
– this novella used to be in the limited time boxset: Love, Laughter and Happily Ever After
– this is told from Melissa & Connor’s points of view
– it is briefly mentioned that a character’s mother left when they were young
Review:
I loved this romcom! It was so much fun getting to know Melissa & Connor (and Granny!). I loved that Melissa made fun outings for Granny & that sometimes Granny would go a little off the rails with them! I loved that Connor was trying to protect his heart & inadvertently made an enemy out of Melissa. I loved that because of that, Connor had to dig himself out of the hole in order to become friends with Melissa when he realized she wasn’t the kind of person he thought she was.
Summary:
Melissa is not a fan of her new neighbor. Not only has he let their shared lawn go to the grave, but he just stared out his window when she first moved in with the help of her family. And now, Melissa can add possible criminal to her reasons to hate him with how many visitors he gets during the week. What other reason could there be for so many people going in and out at all hours of the day?
Connor’s new neighbor claims that her fiance is in the witness protection program, which sets off all kinds of red flags for Connor. But that doesn’t stop him from watching Melissa and thinking about getting to know her anyways…
