☕ I don't think I'll ever be able to get over this painfully emotional yet beautiful series by author Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I picked this book up as a light & short read after back to back big thrillers & fantasy books, but I found it way more heavier than those.
☕ To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this one because the second book was a little underwhelming as compared to the first one and so i assumed that this one will also be the same but I'm glad that my assumption was wrong.
☕ As usual the book comprises of 4 short stories that are somehow interconnected but this time the author takes us to Cafe Donna Donna in Hakodate Port Japan which also belongs to the Tokita family like Cafe Funiculi Funicula in Tokyo.
☕ The book takes a leap of 8 years and lands us around the time when Nagare's wife visits her daughter to the future in the first book. Also we get to meet the new regulars of the cafe and Kazu's daughter who is 8 and now serves the special coffee to the people who wish to time travel.
☕ The author has this special ability to make the readers feel personally connected with the characters. The way he writes about the pain, regrets, happiness & sadness of each character, it feels like i'm going through it all, hence the late night ugly crying.
☕ If you've managed to read this review so far then please go and read this series. You will get a totally new outlook on life and you'll start to be more grateful for the small little blessings & relationships around you. Highly recommended for all age groups.
