Thank you @harperperennial for the gifted book!

An Ordinary Age is perfect for young adult who are struggling with the everyday pressures life throws their way. Rainesford Stauffer examines the obsessive need to portray our lives as perfect on social media. She also explores “finding yourself” through school, work, and hobbies. This book allows readers to take a step back and reflect on who they really want to be and focus on what is truly important in life.

I think I would have had a stronger connection to this book had I read it a few years ago, or when I was in the thick of college/career decisions. There would have been a lot for me to unpack and take away from this book at that point in my life. Some lessons were still helpful, but I think it would have been more applicable to me if I read it earlier. I do love Stauffer’s message of normalizing this “ordinary age” of life. I would recommend this book to young adults who are searching for some direction and trying to find themselves.
