All good-girl, seventeen year old Enchanted wants to do is sing. So when she gets noticed by a famous 28 year old musician who says he wants to mentor her, she is all in. But things quickly go wrong as she realizes he might not be the person she thought he was and she becomes alienated from her family. What she thought would be her dream life becomes a nightmare that she doesn’t know how to end.
Proceed with caution: this book contains emotional, physical and sexual abuse, and pedophelia.
Wow. What a book. This was a very quick but heavy read. It immediately pulled me in and I couldn’t stop reading, I needed to know what happened. Enchanted is a very relatable protagonist and while so many parts of the books disgusted me, I also found this book to be powerful with the emotions it evokes and the conversations it will start. This is one that will definitely sit with me for a long time. I read this as a buddy read and I cannot wait to discuss it today!
