Hard Times
by Charles Dickens
[3.5/4].
For some reason, I presumed that Dickens' novels and essays could seem to be never-ending and tiresome, but what a surprise!
Hard Times has gone beyond my expectations and, although some passages call for a constant concentration, this ended up being a nice reading. Also, there are many reflections that help us to understand that life is about understanding, rather than about facts; were we to live according to facts, societies could be even more capitalist and narrow-minded.
Without a doubt, I will give more chances to Dickens' pieces!
