Don't get me wrong, I had a good time listening to this book - parts of it were really interesting but parts of it were really boring. I don't know anything about the book that this was based on, A tale of Two Cities, but if I had to guess I would think that the parts I found boring were from that book (sorry Charles Dickens). The fairy revenge plot and fae world? Awesome.
Carton is a sad alcoholic who is a lawyer but also a mortal servant to fairies who one day meets his changeling and the changeling of his dead childhood friend. What follows is many years of longing, drinking, and very confusing fairy intrigue.
