This is the first book I have read by Caren Beilin. While I thought the devices in the book were used really well, this wasn't a great introduction. I was definitely missing context without reading her nonfiction books ahead of this one, so some of the tension that came from heightening some of her realities into the fictional and absurd were lost on me.
