Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett

5.0

I am 100% a fan of Discworld and the associated absurdity. But I am not always 100% a fan of each individual novel. So I’ve only read about half of them, which is brilliant because it means I’ve always got a Discworld book to read.

This one, the second one in the Witches thread and the sixth one overall, is great. A king is murdered by one of his dukes and his son whisked away to safety by a loyal follower. So there’s the ghost of the king, the new king and his scary wife, brief appearances by the ever-popular Death, and of course Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg, plus a new witch named Magrat. Oh, and there’s the King’s loyal Fool, and a traveling troop of actors who adopt the young true heir, and a whole lot of complications before everything gets straightened out in the end. Lots of fun. Four and a half stars rounded up to five.
