Lover Mine
by J.R. Ward
Lover Mine is giving [b:Lover Awakened|42900|Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3)|J.R. This book is thick with a lot of things happening but I was surprisingly into all of the storylines. Normally, I would only be into the love story of the two main characters, but in Lover Mine, I was really interested in all the stories unfolding. And I loved how everything tied together in the end and how things turned out for John and Xhex. It bears mentioning that this book is brutal. Where the previous BDB books hinted at or touched briefly on topics of abuse and sexual assault, Lover Mine went all in. But J.R. Ward's writing style and storytelling made them bearable and the ending even more satisfying. John and Xhex's story will be staying with me for a long time.
