This is one of my favourite contemporary novels that I have read in recent years. Gail Honeyman is a very talented writer, this is so well-written. It is quite a quirky book which I like. Eleanor is definitely a little quirky. She is quite obviously from the beginning a bit of an "oddball" and she has her routine that she sticks to. She seems like a very solitary person, she doesn't really fit in or have friends. However, a couple of things happen that send her solitary routines out of the window and that's when things get really interesting. I loved seeing the world from her point of view and I love the idea that no matter how old you are or what you have been through, it's never too late to make changes. Going on the journey with her was a real emotional rollercoaster. I was hooked and really invested in the characters. I can't wait to see what Gail Honeyman brings out next.
