Ruthless Empire: Special Edition Print by Rina Kent
3.0
This was a rollercoaster. If it weren't for the false pregnancy trope, this could have been a 4☆ book in a way or another(not really). THAT PLOT TWIST IN THE END WAS ACTUALLY SO GOOD(coming from someone who usually predicts the twists pretty early). I can't say the characters were that complex and Rina definitely has better books, but this wasn't the worst one. Also, the plot would have made more sense if the characters were in university.

"Look at me, I speak to her in my head. Not him. Fucking look at me."
--------------------------------
"She’s not supposed to be my calm. And yet, when her head falls on my back and her warmth mingles with mine, I realise she’s the only calm I’ve ever had in my life. Even books don’t compare — and that says something."
--------------------------------
That fantasy of us being together for the world to see started and ended in that small town in France.
