Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

“I wish, as well as everybody else, to be perfectly happy; but, like everybody else, it must be in my own way.” — Jane Austen

in a time where money was the deciding factor of everything our austen heroines are still able to make matches with men with the qualities they value and that they love (juries still out on weather marianne feels anything for colonel brandon).

i seriously relate to elinor as an eldest daughter considering she is the main one keeping things together throughout the entire novel. i wish i possessed the strength she has over herself though.

as a side note i’m literally watching the movie right now and find it hilarious that they make a play at the fact that margaret barely exists seeing she’s mentioned a handful of times.

while not my favorite austen novel, i still enjoyed the read, especially for spring. the english countryside vibes are always perfect for spring reading.
