kimvanness 's review for:
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
by Mark Twain
Mostly, I'm just proud of myself for wading through this on my Blackberry's tiiiiiiiiny e-reader. Holding a degree in English without ever having read Mark Twain seemed a bit suspect to me, so now... Well, at least now I can say that I've read him. I may take on another Twain classic sometime (but not likely in the near future). I believe I understand, intellectually and sociologically, why his work is touted as part of Grand Scheme of Great Writers. I wasn't as impressed as I think many scholars would say I should be, but that being said, I will also never argue with anyone contending that Twain is a genius. At least, not yet.
