Sweetie bearded hero who doesn't talk and a tiny dynamo?? SIGN ME UP. I have had this on the TBR for at least a year but I just picked it up today and DAMN I really liked it! I did. Ethan is the sweetest. He is kind, and smart, and brilliant and his brutal job as a football player doesn't define him. Fi is not really sure what she wants but she doesn't want to disappoint anyone - and that is really relatable. I wasn't sure I would really like Fi but I ended up super enjoying her. I also really enjoyed that a lot of this book wasn't them getting together - but navigating their separate lives and trying to make the other one a priority. The discussion of paparazzi, consent and virginity were all wildly pertinent and I really enjoyed them.
A couple of things - their ages? They are like... EARLY 20s? And.... like... I don't know. I wasn't that put together so maybe that is me. But they seemed off. I loved this book and devoured it... but wtf was that whole ** spoiler ** scene where Ethan is punching walls and trashing his house and cutting his hair and beard off... just didn't seem like the character who had been established. It felt wildly off brand and unnecessarily toxic. But it totally ruined the end of the book for me. **end spoiler** Also - how come a year later the epilogue his beard and hair haven't grown back...
