I really like the world that was created, I think there were a lot of unique twists on well established troops and ideas. I do think for the pace and style of story the author choose her world building was to ambitious, leading to some weak point in the lore. Most of the foreshadowing was heavy handed but I find that is often the case when divination is included in the magic system. Overall the characters were loveable if a bit simplistic at times. This wasn’t perfect by any means in a technical sense and reading this review a 4.5 star rating probably doesn’t make sense; but the vibes were strong, I didn’t want to put this book down even with it’s weaknesses it just worked for me.
