I know everyone loves this book and I did think it did a great job of exploring addiction in rural America and had a great voice to it, but it didn’t entirely click with me. I loved the beginning but did find it difficult to read at times because it was just so sad. I ended up getting a little bored in the middle and I feel like the pacing changed a lot and we started speeding through things. I ended up coming back around to it in the end. It was an emotional and beautifully written read, but I don’t think it’s for everyone.
