The start of this book feels like it might end up being another boring, long winded old book, but at some point you get sucked in without even realizing.
Le Guin uses her writing as a discussion of contemporary social issues, but it’s woven into the story in a way that penetrates your subconscious rather than just sitting on the surface of your thoughts.
The story is slow paced, but not boring. The world and character building is interesting and fleshed out enough to keep the reader interested without constantly bombaring them with intense life or death situations at every turn.
This book definably sticks to your bones like a good meal.
