7 Billion Needles, Vol. 1 by Nobuaki Tadano

Whoaaa. This is a really creepy premise and an awesome start to this short series. Lots of violence, although it's less jarring in black and white for some reason...and it's very stylized, even beautiful in parts.

I really love the idea of a social outcast/wallflower suddenly having to interact with people so that she can help the benign alien that's taken over her body. I was pretty shy and withdrawn in high school just like Hikaru. The cacaphony of social interaction around her is really in stark contrast to her own internal silence (broken by the creature Horizon).

And Maelstrom is a totally terrifying villain!
