The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

3.0

It was... Disturbing. And cruel if I'm honest.
I thought it would be the villain's character arc but Snow was evil by himself. Nothing made him evil.

At first I thought he was just a bit selfish and indifferent to the districts. I thought he was empathetic and not so bad. Just had bad principles. But when he ratted out Sejanus, it was cruel. And he went on and became the Plinth heir. Like WTF? And why the hell did Tigris help defeat Snow? Probably had a fallout with him cuz she's kinder at heart than him? How did she end up in the underwear shop? And when Snow killed Lucy Gray, he didn't have a second thought.

But I have to admit, I liked this book wayyyyy better than the trilogy. It felt more meaningful than those.
