Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami

Did not finish book. Stopped at 62%.
This is a book about a woman in her 30s and her friendship with an old man that used to be her teacher. It's a slow moving slice of life story and that would be fine if I was invested in the characters. I read more than half of this book and I still don't care at all about them and what it's happening in their lives. "Sensei", as the main character calls him, seems a bit condescending at times and treats the protagonist like a child. Even worse is that she seems to want and like to be treated like a child. Adding to that, the writing style is extremelly simple.
The elements that bothered me would have been fine singled out, but all of them together made this experience not enjoyable for me so I give up.
