Storm Front by Jim Butcher

dark mysterious medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The narrator was meh.
Orgies are central to the plot, so it feels very weird that that isn't hinted at whatsoever in the blurb or anything. Like the blurb makes it seem like it'll be a totally normal supernatural murder investigation but it's a lot more sexually charged than that. The MC ogles almost every female character and in a lot of scenes the author leans into sexual tension. Since a lot of authors do this in non-romance books, it's very annoying.
As for the general writing, the MC is the only character that gets fully fleshed out. The book is really focused on him and he works on this case completely alone. I was expecting and would have prefered some teamwork in the book.
