Sometimes you read famous books or books turned into film and can't help but wonder why they became so popular to begin with, this however was not one of those cases. Jurassic Park was masterfully written and conveys very skillfully the dread and wonder of finding yourself defenseless on an island full of long-extinct and dangerous dinosaurs. Some characters you might love, some characters you will definitely hate, for various reasons, but they still feel right.
That said, got damn it Lex, I know you are a child, but get a god-damn read of the room, you, living by the end of the book, was my biggest gripe.
