wlw, dystopia, televised death games (the "Lamb's Gauntlet")--what's not to love??

Fable for the End of the World is grim and gorgeous. A love story and a fight for survival set in a world that feels all too plausible--ruthless oligarchs, climate collapse, commodified bodies, and violence sold as entertainment. Sunrise on the Reaping pulled me back into the world of dystopia, and I'm so glad it led me here.

The worldbuilding is fantastic--sharp, vivid, bleak in all the right ways. The commentary on power, consumerism, and what it means to live instead of just survive is devastatingly good.

I’ll admit, the romance between Inesa and Melinoë moved a bit too fast--but also? They were literally trapped in a system designed to kill or erase them, with no autonomy and no time. Their connection felt like desperation and hope and rebellion all tangled together, so I'll excuse the insta-love this time.

Also, I loved the sibling dynamic between Inesa and Luka--wish we'd gotten more of that!
