Atonement by Ian McEwan

4.0

I never have much interest in war books, and this writing style would usually bore me how detailed and lengthy its descriptions are, and how slow paced the first part is. Yet I found myself still entranced by every page, ever during Robbie’s point of view which I would normally struggle to get through. Because I watched the film previously, I was excited to dive deeper into the story and now I’ve fallen in love with these characters, whose deep affection and adoration rivals Romeo and Juliet in my opinion.
