Come True is the first book I’ve read by author, Brindi Quinn but I’ve already downloaded Lightborne, Heart of Farellah and A Crown of Echoes and moved them straight to the top of my TBR pile. I’ll confess when I picked up this cute little e-book from an unknown to me author, I wasn’t expecting to be wowed, but wowed I was.
Almost immediately, I was drawn into a richly detailed, complex world (I can see now why they call Brindi Quinn the queen of world building!) featuring none other than a genie. Now don’t lose me here, yes it’s a genie romance, yes that might not be for everyone, but Brindi Quinn makes it work and whoa does it work. Both main characters are incredibly complex, likeable and deeply layered. The romance is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and it’s not insta-love (thank god). I adored the banter, the flirty and the comedy. I laughed out loud several times startling both my partner and cat who gave me that look (yes you know that one).
If you like some plot with your romance, well your in for a treat. This one hits the trifecta for me, the characters are three-dimensional and realistic, the plot is exciting and keeps you interested and the writing style is faultless. Brindi Quinn is extremely talented, so if you haven’t heard of her before, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
