Rocky Mountain Haven by Vivian Arend

4.0

10/12/2021 - ebook is free pretty much all the places. Audiobook is WS on Audible for $2.99.

7/2020 - Each book in the series builds on the last, so be sure to read/listen in order. This one also runs somewhat concurrently to Rocky Mountain Heat (book 1), so there’s full on spoilers if you opt to start here.

This one is pretty low angst (though with a few potential triggers, listed at the bottom of my review) and features brother #3, Daniel. He meets the mysterious Beth in a bar one weekend where sparks fly - but she slips him a fake number. When they reunite, Beth surprises Daniel with not only the fact that she’s a mom to three young boys but also a proposal of a sex-only relationship. Daniel agreed under the condition that he wants to at least be friends.

This is simultaneously sweet & super sexy. I like that even though Beth is skiddish about a relationship and has a lot of trauma from her deceased husband to get over - she doesn’t play with Daniel’s feelings or waffle. While slow burn in the relationship aspect - the sex is frequent & fun. Beth’s boys are an adorable addition and it’s a treat to witness the whole family fall in love with each other.

We get updates on Blake & Jaxi. A few chapters from Gabe’s POV to tease us about his upcoming book as well as his perspective on some happenings with Matt. (Who gets the next book, Rocky Mountain Desire)

I enjoyed Sokolov's narration. She uses a subtle Canadian accent that continues to remind the listener of where we're at without overpowering the narration/story.
