Wideacre by Philippa Gregory
3.0
Did I enjoy this story? No. Did I care deeply about the characters? Yes. That’s what bound me to ride it out to the end. Beatrice Lacey is a character set on a path of self destruction. She becomes so set on one thing that she loses everything else to have it. She commits every sin, blatantly. and ultimately loses her very soul. Her tale is heartbreaking as we follow her into insanity. Philips Gregory has a talent for making me care for the most unsympathetic of characters and this book is no different.
