Kitty and the Moonlight Rescue by Paula Harrison

4.0

This was just adorable, from the narrative to the pictures to all of the friends that Kitty makes.  When Kitty puts on her superhero outfit to feel more confident, neighborhood cats thinks she's ready to help them out with a mission.  But confidence can only go so far...right?  As Kitty discovers her powers in a new context and makes new friends along the way, she realizes that she really can do a lot more than she first thought.

What I loved about this book was her mother--though she wasn't present for most of it, when Kitty returns and admits she had a night-long adventure, her mother is as proud as can be and wants to hear all about it.  What a change from the usual angry to worried to relieved cycle!

Additionally, I loved the illustrations.  With black, white, and orange, we get not only many cats' basic fur make-up, but a perfect fall-themed story as a full moon shines down upon Kitty. This was such fun, and had the perfect amount of stress and cuteness and Kitty goes forth and saves a kitten.  Overall, great for cat-lovers, superhero-fanatics, and confident young girls.
