Parable of the Sower: A Graphic Novel Adaptation
by Octavia E. Butler, Damian Duffy
It’s frightening how prescient Octavia Butler was when she wrote this story of a country ravaged by income inequality and climate disasters.
I felt like there were some inconsistencies in the visuals with characters looking either in distinct from each other or distinct from how they appeared in a previous pane (skin paler/darker, age older/younger) and even a typo or two and I was unsure whether this was an artistic choice or just an oversight.
I’m not sure the graphic medium is a good fit for this novel, but it just makes me want to read it in its original form.
