The Brightest Night by Tui T. Sutherland
5.0
This one was easily my favourite in this series. I loved Sunny as a narrator and I loved the character growth we got to see through the entire story for her.
I love that she still has those inner insecurities thinking that her friends don't take her seriously by the end of the book but she still managed to show character growth by going to the dessert alone, following the NightWings that kidnapped her and meeting her parents. I also love that she is the one who puts ending the war into motion.
I love that this book is a perfect mix of adventure and fighting, I loved the SandWing battle between the princesses and how Thorn ultimately became the queen - she is perfect compared to Blaze.
The only thing that really bugged me in these first five books was that we meet three queens in depth and get to know them but we don't get to meet Glacier or Moorhen - I especially wish that we got more of Moorhen because what we got in this book was good and her story sounded like an interesting story and she sounded like a fair queen with interesting and different background than other queens, I mean with the other the siblings can also challenge them for the throne, but with MudWings that just doesn't happen because the family means everything to them and siblings stick together no matter what.
But other than that this was a pretty good book and a pretty good conclusion to the first arc.
