As the Pig Turns by M.C. Beaton

2.0

I just... I’m glad that I’m not the only one who was dazed and confused with this book.

I’ve read a lot of the Agatha Raisin series and while they’ve never had me in tears from laughing so hard (I also don’t really outwardly react like that to any book, no matter how genuinely funny it is), this one was much more boring and confusing than previous books.

There were far too many players and an unnecessarily complicated plot that just ended up being a confusing, disjointed mess. It was also a lot more gory than I remember previous books in this series being. I don’t mind the goriness — I read much more hardcore thrillers than this on a regular basis — but it just seems out of place with the “cozy mystery vibe” of this series.

Yet I’ll still read books in this series, I can guarantee it. Maybe I’m addicted to M.C. Beaton. Who knows.
