Hands down my favourite in the series which is surprising considering how much I disliked Nesta throughout the other books. I think that’s a testament to SJM and how she wrote such an unlikeable character and then made you see things from her POV. I’ll be team nesta for life. The feminist in me LOVED this book, the way Nesta empowers Emerie and all those priestesses with training and self defence.
Lots of reviews about the pacing of this book - I disagree. The issues Nesta works though aren’t things that are quickly fixed they take time. I feel like that slower introduction and storyline was necessary. It made me feel Nesta’s emotions so deeply, I was sobbing all the way through this book! The ending felt slightly rushed but I feel it’s just SJM setting up for whatever’s next!
