The instant chemistry between Sid and Ty was seamless and so well executed throughout the book. I loved the raw emotions Ty carried after his parents’ death and how he struggled with his grief while stepping into the NBA world. Watching them build a strong friendship with undeniable chemistry before finally getting together was so satisfying. Their sex scenes were both intimate and spicy, balancing tenderness with heat perfectly.

The emotional intensity reached its peak when Sid discovered Ty had stopped therapy and admitted he wanted to end it all after a panic attack—something that hit Sid hard after losing his first and only boyfriend to suicide. Their relationship hit rock bottom again when Sid punched a player over homophobic comments and decided to publicly take a stand as an ally, while Ty wanted to stay private and focus on honoring his parents’ memory through basketball. Despite their struggles, they worked through it with love, honesty, and a little therapy, coming out stronger than ever.

Sid’s heartfelt proposal speech at the end summed up everything they had endured from beginning to end so beautifully. Ty’s written proposal was also beautiful that he wasn’t able to say due to Sid beating him to propose. I absolutely loved this book, and I can’t wait for Arnaz’s story next!
