I really wanted to like this book. But unfortunately I never had to read anything so badly written. I can take the flat plot and cliché stereotype Charakters in favor of focus on the romance, but someone needs to teach the author that there are more stilistic elements for tension than just repeating a short sentence or word three times in a row ("where is she? Where is she? Where is she?"), which gets even more ridiculous when listening to the audio book.

On top of that I've never encountered a MC as unlikeable as Feyre. If it wasn't for the other Charakters, I wouldn't have finished the book. Not only is her behaviour immature, unrelatable and not funny, she is also useless and overly dramatic. With even the mildest news or confrontation, she can barely stand and oh my does this girl like to throw up! After she already "emptied her guts on the floor" countless times in the first book, I decided to keep a vomit counter for this read: 37 times! That's more than half the chapters. Apart from two other occasions, she's also the only Charakter having such difficulties keeping her food down.

As for the plot, it's pretty straight forward and predictable. However, I liked the finale and didn't see the final twist coming. Even though the plot convenience lasts until the last second of the book.
But we all know, that's not why you're here anyway. The book has quite some spice and slow burn and the romance is fine, albeit nothing outstanding that'll make you wanting more. The charakters around Feyre range from alright to super likeable. The only unrelatable thing being why they would keep putting up with Feyre.

I will not continue reading the series.
