Rather cliche at points in both writing and plot points ("tumbling locks" and beautiful girl in a gorgeous dress at a ball anyone?). Read a bit of like a YA fiction.
There's a couple of romantic relationships to get stuck into but by far most enjoyable one for me was the love between Kel and Prince Conor - more of this in book 3 please.
