Book 1 left me so unwell I went and read the entire Legends of Thezmarr books and novellas (I hadn't read them before) and then, armed with that amazing story, I re-read Iron & Embers and immediately, at 12:36 am, started Thorns & Fire. While I am doing better at the end of this than I&E, I am still reeling from the depth and complexity of the story. I saw the ending barreling towards me, but even then, I wasn't prepared for it. I adore this world, this couple, their found family, the complexity of their world, and even the stupid politics. Book 3 cannot come fast enough. Any complaints or issues are minimal because the story just draws you in completely, and I am surprised when I'm interrupted that I am in a modern house wearing shorts and not a dress with a dagger and potions in my pocket. And dang it, where is my Warsword?
