This book was beautifully written and so powerful. It explores grief and depression, but also the power of friendship, poetry, and bravery. It made me cry several times. It is a slower paced novel, but it has short chapters, and after the first 100 pages, I was fully invested in Cash's story. I particularly appreciated the way that grief was explored prior to death with a long term dehabilitating illness. The poems written throughout were powerful, and some of the prose describing the purpose of poetry was some of the most powerful explanations for why it is "useful" while also being "useless" at the same time.
