I had read House of M so I knew about M Day and as a result realize that the birth of the first mutant since then is a big deal. But I haven't read any of the New X-men stories, so I had no clue who half the team was.

Other things that confused my poor little mind: when did Multiple Man become a private eye? Gambit is with Mr. Sinister and the Marauders? Since when can Prof X walk? Scott is in a major fight with Prof X?

Interesting twists:

Bishop, essentially turns bad because the baby will usher in the dystopian future from which he came.

Cable is off to the future (his?) with the baby at the end.

Prof X is killed...yet again.

What happened to the second of Jamie's dupes that went into the future?
