Fifty Beasts to Break Your Heart: And Other Stories
by GennaRose Nethercott
I bought this book on a whim. I walked into Waterstones. It was face out. It called to me. I picked it up and bought it without looking inside. (The title did it for me. The cover did it for me. The texture of the cover did it for me.) When I got home, I had a flick through. There were illustrations, and I thought, Perfect. Then, I looked at the dedication. It read, 'To the Autumn People. Blessed Be the Bones!' And again, I thought, Perfect.
Reader, I was right.
This book is a slice of strange magic, and I really enjoyed it.
