Leia: Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray
4.0
This is my first foray into the Star Wars extended universe books. It reads like a YA novel, and while still enjoyable as an adult I would have LOVED this as a teen. Leia is a clear leader from the start, and we get insight into her intelligence and compassion as a young woman, punctuated with moments of love and espionage (BECAUSE IT'S STAR WARS DUH). We even get peeks at her force sensitivity. Throw in an aside from her mom hoping Leia cuts loose one day and dates a bad boy (hellurrr Han Soloooo) and you have the cherry topper to a great Leia origin story.
