The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by S.A. Chakraborty

adventurous emotional mysterious medium-paced

4.5

Magical objects, hidden islands, a pirate ship, insane sea creatures, and not to mention a sea-faring female captain who has incredible life experience before the novel begins? Aside from this being a novel by Shannon Chakraborty (S.A. Chakraborty of the Daevabad Trilogy) those descriptors would have sold me in a heartbeat.

Meticulously written, The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi is ridiculously fun. It doesn't have the same level of darkness that edged Chakraborty's previous series, and brings an element of seafaring adventure that had me at times humming the theme song to Pirates of the Caribbean.

As you can tell from my rating, I loved it!
