A delicious read I devoured in a day!
Syren
Strong willed and consistent throughout she’s a headstrong woman who’s not afraid to ask questions!
Bear
I fell in love with him from the start. He shows us his vulnerability all the while being the Cruel King we’re told he is. He’s definitely in my top 3 for book boyfriends;)
Together
Perhaps my taste in character relationships explains why I’m never in one XD I love the constant snark and banter that flows through their relationship throughout the book.
Not to mention the sexual tension was very enjoyable, every lusty look, every longing caress, every almost kiss...I felt it.
The story
The Cruel Fae King is a page turner! In a land where a curse has been cast, the only way to break it is for the union of the Fire King to a Water Princess. The effects of the curse are devastating and I understood the urgency Bear felt to provide a solution for the kingdom and the uncertainty Syren felt about fulfilling her role in it all.
I hope we find out more about Emella and what really happens to her in the sequel.
As for supporting characters, I love Miranda! I hope Aisha gets what’s coming to her. And I hope they get justice for the messenger, because I liked that character too :).
Overall it was a delicious read that I devoured in a day and I can’t wait to see what A.K. Koonce and Rebecca Grey have for us next!
