This was a very cozy, simple and straightforward Romantasy. The stakes were very low, the ending was happy, and the world building existed but was told to you straight out instead of you having to parse through it.
It was maybe a bit too simple, the actions of the characters were never subtle and plot points were typically explained and reiterated multiple times. Characters thoughts and feelings were also spelled out for you.
That being said, it was a perfectly fine book if you are truly looking for something so cozy you can completely turn your brain off while reading. I’ll probably read the second.
