I really wanted to like this book, because I thoroughly enjoyed Normal People, but I just didn't. I couldn't connect with the characters, I couldn't understand their motivation or justify their actions. Their "conversations" felt pretentious at times, there was very little character development, and the plot was too slow for my liking.
